DEFENSE MINISTRY -
suministration and installation of a communication and radio monitoring system, turnkey.
This tender was carried out in Geneve under the control of the ITU, chosen for the suministration of the Rohde & Schwarz equipment (Germany), together with the technical maintenance and installation by AEROMARINE SA.
The total system is composed of three digital radio monitoring bases and two vehicles with mobile systems. The installations and the commissioning of the sites were carried out entirely by AEROMARINE SA under supervision of the Rohde & Schwarz specialists.

RENEWAL OF THE CONTROL RADAR CHAIN OF THE NATIONAL NAVY
AEROMARINE SA provides a total of 8 radars DECCA (Litton) for the renewal of the Naval coast system. Among them figure those installed in Montevideo, Punta del Este, La Paloma, Carmelo and Colonia, as well as those of several Navy vessels.

AEROMARINE provides a system for digital selective calling (DSC) for the Worldwide System of Marine Aid (GMDSS) by Thrane & Thrane, for the Argentine Navy in order to equip the naval base of Mar del Plata, where Aeromarine participated in the installation works. With this reference, AEROMARINE SA is the only uruguayan company experienced in providing and installing a DSC system for GMDSS.

REPRESENTATION of ORBCOMM in Uruguay
The 16th of March 1999, the Ministry of Defense authorizes AEROMARINE SA to operate and exploite in national territory a bidirectional communication system via the low orbit satellite net from ORBCOMM. At the same time, Aeromarine is nominated exclusive representative in Uruguay for ORBCOMM through its concessionary for the Cono Sur, DAMOS Sudamérica, Brazil. The data communication system promises to open a door to more innovative technology in Uruguay, and offers much more economic solutions than those that already exist today in what refers to communication of small data packages via satellite/internet for the positioning and surveillance of mobiles, transmissions of states of alert or any other data obtained by a sensor, control and monitoring of mashinery at long distances, transmission of short messages, etc.
This system provides at present the communication between several fishing vessels and private boats.
The Orbcomm system in Uruguay is used for monitoring car/truck parks, too; a service provided for the company MobilTrack.
Furthermore, various pilot proyects are being carried out for different uses of the system.
